About

A seafood house, backed by three decades of Norwegian salmon operating experience.

Miami · Vestnes · Founded 2024 · An Alsco family company

01

The company in one paragraph

Crystal Point Foods Inc. is a seafood house operating out of Miami, Florida, with its Norwegian parent Alsco based in Vestnes on the Romsdal coast. The company supplies farmed salmon from qualified operators in Norway and Chile, with additional programs in Canada, Scotland, Iceland, and the Faroes, to restaurant chains, wholesale, and retail customers in North America, Europe, South America, and — increasingly — Asia and the Middle East. Product is shipped frozen today, with fresh capability available when the account requires it.

02

The family holding

Crystal Point Foods Inc. is a privately held company controlled by the Alsco family holding, with participation from the CEO’s holding company.

Alsco is a Norwegian family holding co-owned by cousins Johan Andreassen and Bjørn-Vegard Løvik. In Norway today, Alsco is a fully integrated salmon farming operator running hatcheries, smolt facilities, sea-pen sites, and closed-containment production, with three decades of aquaculture experience across salmon, trout, tilapia, and cod. Alsco is not a fund. It is not a private-equity vehicle with a five-year exit timeline. The horizon is measured in generations.

03

Co-founder of Villa Organic (1996) and Atlantic Sapphire (2010). Has been active in the US salmon market since the early 2000s, when Villa served national restaurant chains and retailers — more than twenty-five years of US salmon experience. CEO, Alsco

Bjørn-Vegard Løvik

Co-founder of Villa Organic and Atlantic Sapphire. Built out the Norwegian side of Alsco across three decades. Runs the Norwegian operations. Based in Vestnes, Romsdal.

The name

Crystal Point is named for the water Johan and Bjørn-Vegard grew up on — the head of a fjord on the Romsdal coast of Norway that opens west into the Norwegian Sea — and the point of land the family holding is anchored to. Not maritime decoration. A place.

Timeline

  • 1993
As teenagers on the Romsdal coast, Johan and Bjørn-Vegard start out as fishermen and pioneer the use of cleaner fish — wrasse — in Norwegian salmon farming, an environmentally friendly biological control for sea lice that becomes an industry standard.

Johan and Bjørn-Vegard co-found Villa Organic. Built from greenfield into one of Norway’s first commercial organic salmon farms.
  • 2010

In the same year, Johan and Bjørn-Vegard co-found Atlantic Sapphire, and Johan goes on to run the first commercial-scale land-based salmon farm in the United States.
